I haven't seen a single r3,6,9+ group this weekend, and I guess thats a good thing. I did see a r11+ starburst forming thought :S

The new format feels much more organised and just overall more fun. 8v8 in arena style was just one big clusterRED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO in the middle. Although it's like that on alter maps still, that's the style of the map, but the other map styles feel alot better to play

well that was fun 'cos r0-r2 players (just like me) decided thats the time to go get their 1st emotes - there were lots of hardcore-pve players, and it was fun to see some regular HA builds being ganked by some unranked pugs... hell i had LOTS of fun playing RC-prot in 1 of such pugs, our live vic-dolyaks tank runned in the middle of vimway traps *gasps* spammed HH, survived (gotta love RC) and cyclone-axed away all the trappers... tank, being the perfect farming build vs any melee-based oponent, was able to survive w/o any extra-heals for quite long time while 3 sorry w/r were chasing us 2 monky all over the arena... of cos eles died 1st but being pve eles they got used to it so they just waited patiently eventually iway team gave up and left/died, we collected our 2 fame and moved to the next arena where we found dual smite waiting 4 us... uh oh...
on the serious note - well yes it was fun, monking is always fun and healing for any pvp pug is more interesting that monking for pve. i guess it was another anet's attempt to prove that they care about pve and pvp players both... so they gave a chance to all unranked/low-ranked players to get some fame faster than usual and start farming even more fame in r3-5+ iways if thats what they desire...
also it was fun to play with middle-ranked (r4-r7) pvp players - with so many unranked pve chars invading HA ranked teams got less picky and actually started to invite unranked ppl with ts and flexible builds. i still cant get it how ppl can choose pvp-only char when they can start pve char and lvl it up and cap all elites in 2-3 days... they have to reroll pvp char every time they want to switch their armors, while all i have to do is to open my inv (even mid-game if i feel so), and they have to remember to put all pve weapons they bought in storage be4 rerolling, ugh, i cant be bothered... but then again its just me

well evrbdy and their grandma keep telling us that iway is the way to get fame w/o actually thinking about it. oh well, if thats what i have to do... i switched 2ndry on my war and tryed playing w/r (standart iway build) in iway with necro/rit and in vimway teams, geeze, that sucked.... why nerf them they're alrdy impaired i mean modded iway with 2 necros and rit was ok, but any not-so-drunk balanced pug even with some noobs in it can kill regular pug-stile iway if balanced got wards/aegis on 75%-90% of the time.
during the weekend it got even worse - i played in quite a few balanced and dual smite or just-get-together-we'll kill them-somehow teams, chances to find r3+ player in such teams were just as good as getting sapp/ruby off coldfires in UW - but nevertheless as long as we remembered who's casting next aegis we were getting to the next arena... its a mystery why evrbdy believes that iway and vimway r some sort of uber-builds - thats not true. i mean it might be that really good players working together r winning alot of matches and they might be using some sort of iway-vimway build, but then we're talking about skill vs cookie-cutter builds, skilled players have higher chances to win no matter what build they're running, right?

I am enjoyig the HA weekend becasue there are a lot more people there to play with and it is much easier to find a team, you also have to play through all the matches to get to Halls usually without just jumping through most of them like usual. Persoanlly imyself dont like the weekend to much but im hopug this will lead up to there being more HA players again.
Well you would have to have a lot of money to do that.. .since you would need every Class, Skill, Armor, Weapon, and Runes to be able to make all the PvP builds when you can re-roll in a few secs, i have PvE characters that are just as good as a PvP character.. however i still just re-roll my PvP instead :P

I saw many different and cool builds....except the rest 70% of the enemies were VIMWAY... We did some fun 3 hammer build (everyone got different hammer build) with a bonder and a booner and a henchie, we fought so much VIMWAY that we were filled with joy when we saw different build (even with henchies). One go all the teams we fought were VIMWAY...The 1v1 vs 1v1 got only VIMWAYS...those are not too tough builds, except in some sort of combo (we died to such).
Anyway it was cool event.

try the pvp forums dude. that's where they all are. Riverside Inn is for pve; however, this IS interesting to see how the PVErs feel about the event, so I kinda like this thread.

I went from r3+ to r6+ farming something aside from fame. Didn't really see much difference between 6 and 8, maybe a bit more creative building, but you quickly see patterns emerging to where there would easily be a 6v6 replacement for the 8v8 standard.

Spent a lot less time forming groups which was nice, but that was a combination of double fame and 6 man teams. Forming a group of 6 is easier than 8 of course, but your left with the problem of the actual builds themselves. You are just simply extremely limited with what you can actually run. The Majority of the people who are running ViM/IWAY (and any combinations of the two) aside, you see more or less the same things: Dual-Smite, Pressure/Degen, Dual/Triple Starburst. You see the occasion ranger spike, but otherwise I haven't seen any really unique combos.. You simply don't have the skill slots neccesary to make any real variety from those few builds that work.
Then theres also remembering that it's a whole 3 days in.. Builds aren't really refined or tuned.. And people are really out looking to farm fame due to the double fame, but having just a weekend every month where it's 6-man teams would make an interesting periodic event though I think..

I love the 6vs6 stile. More fast, more fun, more time
They can revert to normal fame gain.. but please let the 6vs6.
Just my 2 cents.

While HA is still a crap gametype in my book, I think that 6v6 is better suited for it than 8v8. One thing it does is decrease the number of interrupters for that most mindnumbing of 'battles', the Hall of Heroes.

I dont think that it that great the 6vs6 as you are more limited, i dont think they should keep it as 6vs6 forever, but it is great as a change. Maybe they should do 6vs6 HA more often but without the double fame

Because they can be ridiculiously easy to beat. ^^
